Who Else Wants To Know Where To Donate Strollers?

It is only after your baby has outgrown all her stuff when you will realize that babies require too much stuff! You find yourself with clothes, toys, strollers, baby formula, unused diaper supplies, baby wipes, lotions, and lots of other things that you don’t know what to do with.

While throwing them might sound like the easy way of getting rid of them, it is not an environment-friendly way of disposal. The items ultimately find their way to landfills. Viable options include selling online, recycling, giving them to friends or donating them for charity.

The latter option of donating baby items such as strollers helps support families who may not be able to afford them. Their babies also get to have the same comfort as your lovely kids.

Fortunately, there are lots of places where to donate strollers. I may not exhaust all of them, but I hope you can find a place near you so that we can contribute to the betterment of society.

Where to Donate a Used Stroller

1. Donationtown.org

If you are in the United States, then donations.org is one of the places you can donate a baby stroller, alongside other items. It is an organization that works alongside hundreds of charity organizations that receive your donations.

Donationtown.org does the job of collecting the items for free from you the parent, then delivering them to their allied charity organizations. These organizations then distribute the strollers to families with a tight budget or need the donations for a reason or another.

By partnering with donationtown.org, your donation helps the parents make safe, easy, and comfortable preparation for their precious one on the way. Examples of charity organizations they partner with include Vietnam Veterans of America, HALIFAX HUMANE SOCIETY, San Diego Habitat for Humanity ReStore and County of Los Angeles Toy Loan.

These donations, therefore, help out parents who fraught and worry at the prospect of providing for their newborns through the development stages. Every item, not only a stroller, fills them with joy, celebration, and anticipation as they receive wonderful essential baby gifts.

Jennifer Randal Nelson is the founder and also former director of BabyGoRound. She says that it is her desire for every mother to provide the same experience for their children, just as her three children did.

Where to Make Donations

For those who can reach their facility on 2939 Kingsway, Vancouver, then you can physically take your stroller and other items. The collection is done both on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 am to 2 pm. Volunteers are at hand to unload the items.

Also, you can drop them at the facility every last Saturday of the month from 10 am to 1 pm. Alternatively, you can organize for a collection drive, where they then pick the item. For those who cannot reach the main facility, you can make a drop at these locations:

  • Coquitlam
  • Ladner & South Delta
  • Maple Ridge
  • New Westminster
  • North Vancouver
  • Richmond
  • West Vancouver
  • White Rock/South Surrey

3. Cradles to Crayons Chicago

Located in Chicago, the Cradles to Crayons organization creates a collection of carefully collected items. It then sorts these items to match the needs of the girls and boys who they would be distributing the collections too.

Gently used goods fit for newborns up to children aged 12 years are accepted. Parents and well-wishers making the donations are requested to assist in the provision of essentials that make the children feel cherished, valued, and held in high regards.

Therefore, ensure your stroller is in top working condition, has no broken or missing parts and not stained. Preferably, the strollers and car seats need to be not older than 5 years, in perfect working shape and hygienic. The same goes for all the other items you may wish to donate.

If you check their website, you will notice that they have arranged the items accepted regarding urgency. So, if you have any of these, it would be great if you could help out a child somewhere who needs it.

Some of these urgent items include baby carriers, receiving blankets, changing pads, towels, lotion, chapter books for ages 11 to 12, and baby board books for ages up to 2 years. Also, coat size 14/16 which is their most requested item is normally urgently needed.

For the safety and hygienic concerns of the children and families served, there are items that the organization does not accept. Some of them are due to the limited amount of space in their possession. Most of the items are furniture as well as household items. Here is the list.

4. Pregnancy Care Center

Here is another place to donate your new or gently used single or double strollers. Unfortunately, if you owned an umbrella stroller and wanted to donate it, Pregnancy Care Center does not accept this type of stroller.

Before you make the stroller donation, check the Canadian safety regulations for conformance. Otherwise, it may be declined. Alongside the stroller, other allowed items are:

  • Bassinet
  • Crib bedding
  • Crib (mattress & hardware)
  • New/gently used adult furniture/appliances
  • Gate
  • Playpen
  • High chair
  • Swing
  • Baby carrier

You should know that umbrella strollers, toys, clothes, cribs with no hardware, very old furniture and car seats for toddlers are not accepted as donations.

5. Mummies Paying It Forward

This organization based in Sydney was founded in December 2014 by Fatma Elzein. She is a mother of four and a practicing pediatrics. The organization is run by a small group of volunteers.

It was started with the aim of giving a helping hand to the vulnerable members of our society. You too can contribute to this noble course by donating brand new, or gently used goods. These are then distributed to non-profit charity organizations within Sydney and the surroundings.

Emphasis is on the great condition. Your stroller that is still in top condition but you don’t use will definitely help out someone else who is at a rough patch in their life. This organization has over 30 points where you can drop off the stroller. Alternatively, you can deliver it directly to the charities they work with.

Have you got baby stuff you don’t need? Have your children outgrown their strollers? Are you wondering what to do with them? Well, the noblest thing to do would be to provide them to parents and families in dire need but cannot afford them. But do you even know where to donate strollers to help other needy children?

I have listed some of these donation organizations. They work with other non-profit charitable organizations to ensure children from the less privileged families also have a comfortable upbringing. You can be part of this nobility by donating your good condition-stroller alongside other specified essentials.
